Yakuza 4 Remaster Review

I recently replayed the Yakuza 4 Remaster, and boy, was it a rollercoaster ride! If you’re in the mood for a game that effortlessly blends intense crime drama with soap opera moments, this one’s a gem. Yakuza 4 is the fourth installment in the long-running Yakuza series, and it’s on of my favorites.

The story is the real star of the show. It’s a complex and engrossing tale that will keep you hooked from start to finish. The characters are all well-developed and likeable, and the twists and turns will keep you guessing until the very end.

Kazuma Kiryu, the series’ stoic hero, returns to the forefront, but it’s the supporting cast that steals the show. Each with their own unique fighting style and story arc. This gives the game a lot of variety, and it helps to keep things fresh throughout the lengthy campaign.

The combat is still as satisfying as ever, with plenty of flashy combos and over-the-top finishing moves. The new characters all bring their own unique abilities to the table, which adds a lot of depth to the fighting system.

Then there’s the dialogue, which swings between gritty Yakuza drama and downright absurdity. The scriptwriters deserve a standing ovation for their ability to seamlessly switch between serious and downright silly.

The city of Kamurocho has never looked better, and exploring it is a treat on PC. It’s a bustling urban playground filled with side activities.

Overall, Yakuza 4 is a great game that fans of the series will love. It’s a bit of a slow start, but it more than makes up for it with its engaging story and addictive gameplay. If you’re looking for a Japanese action-adventure game with a great story, then Yakuza 4 Remaster is definitely worth checking out.

If you’re not sure if you’ll like Yakuza 4 Remaster, I would recommend playing Yakuza 0 or Yakuza Kiwami first. These two games are excellent introductions to the series, and they will give you a good idea of whether or not you’ll enjoy Yakuza 4 Remaster.

Little known Gaming Kick FACT: Each character gets different weapons at the weapon shops, so look out for that. Each weapon also has a little list that shows who can and who can’t use it.
